Grenache & Gamay

THE WINE

The Hannah Jane Rosé is the first marriage of Grenache and Gamay for the production of a Rosé style wine. Both contributing different elements to the finished wine, this Rosé exhibits confectionary cherries, strawberries, cranberry and spice. With only 7g/L residual sugar, the wine remains balanced and approachable – making it ideal for the warmer weather. Elegant tannins and fresh acidity allow this vibrant Rosé to leave you wanting more.

Description

Hannah Jane Moore was a teacher in the Sunday School at St Peters Church in Dartmouth Devon, United Kingdom when she met and married Charles Thomas Hewett. Coming from the comforts of English society it must have been quite a cultural shock for her to adapt to such primitive conditions as a pioneer as well as the added burden of bearing 6 children. She deserves much admiration for what she must have endured in those early years of settlement and this wine is a tribute to her achievements as a pioneer of the creation of McLaren Vale.
