Sharing its roots with the town, Oxenberry Farm stands to be the oldest establishment in McLaren Vale, established in 1840.

Devonshire farmers William Colton and Charles Hewett journeyed to Australia in 1839 with their families and ambitions, aspiring to build a legacy. 

120 years on, young successors and brothers Michael and Filippo Scarpantoni (of Scarpantoni Estate Wines) were born into the region and onto part of the original Oxenberry Farm site. Years of enduring hard work enabled the boys to return to their roots and purchase a part of the farm on which they once called home. Oxenberry Farm Wines was then born and is currently run by the third generation, Domenic, Matteo and Jacob Scarpantoni.

Made a last minute decision to take my 92 year old Nan who has limited mobility here for lunch. We were greeted by incredibly thoughtful staff who upon seeing Nan's walker grabbed a ramp to make access easier. And the excellent service for lunch just continued. The mulled wine was so good I had to share with Nan. The food was served quickly and was just delicious. Will definitely be returning.

A big thank you to the team at Oxenberry Farm. Yesterday we held a surprise birthday in the function room downstairs. The room looked amazing and the meals were delicious. The staff were more than helpful with the arrangements and we received excellent service on the day. I would thoroughly recommend this great venue to anyone looking for something special.

Very impressed with this unplanned stopover for lunch ! I spied a great view of rolling hills , with sheep and horses , grapevines....the food scrumptious....great comprehensive wine list..my muscat was best I've ever tasted..check them out ..on a bike oath with a lake and geese ..perfect.

Stayed 2 nights in Colton Cottage. Such a quaint, cosy time. A wonderful claw-foot bath, perfect to enjoy the bottle of fizz they put in your fridge. The cottage is situated on the Shiraz Trail, which made it easy to walk to various wineries. We had to leave early on the day of departure, so they arranged some breakfast provisions in the cottage. Perfect!
