Hannah Jane Moore was a teacher in the Sunday School at St Peters Church in Dartmouth Devon, United Kingdom when she met and married Charles Thomas Hewett. Coming from the comforts of English society it must have been quite a cultural shock for her to adapt to such primitive conditions as a pioneer as well as the added burden of bearing 6 children. She deserves much admiration for what she must have endured in those early years of settlement and this wine is a tribute to her achievements as a pioneer of the creation of McLaren Vale.
